Coating thickness gauges are used for the non-destructive measurement of coatings such as paint or plastic on metallic surfaces. The PeakTech 5220 works according to the eddy current principle and is suitable for ferrous metals (Fe) such as sheet steel and non-ferrous metals (Non-Fe) such as Suitable for aluminum or copper. This measuring device works with high precision and has a German and English user interface with menu control on the easy-to-read LCD display with backlight. In addition to the many measurement functions, such as minimum and maximum value, mean, high and low alarm and much more, this model also offers an internal data memory in which four measurement groups can be recorded. The saved measured values can be transfered via USB cable to a Computer and with the enclosed software it is possible to save the data as a text file or Excel table. For increased measuring accuracy, the PeakTech 5220 offers an easy-to-use calibration and zeroing function. As a result, this measuring device is particularly suitable for testing paint thicknesses in the automotive sector, for painting companies, galvanizing, anodizing or other industrial metal coating processes.
